All tamariki aged 3–5 years are eligible for 20 Hours Free ECE, funded by the Ministry of Education.
At The Village we go one step further and offer 30 Free childcare, this means:
-
Up to 6 hours per day and 20 hours per week, at a fully subsidised rate
-
No additional costs for excursions, kai, or extra programmes
-
Flexible sessions — choose how many hours suit your family best
Depending on your family’s situation, you could access up to 30 hours of free childcare by combining ECE funding with a WINZ Childcare Subsidy.
Do you need more than 20 hours?
If you’re working, studying, or caring for whānau 20+ hours a week, you may qualify for a WINZ subsidy that covers additional hours. This could mean no out-of-pocket costs for care beyond your 20 Free ECE hours. We’ll help guide you through the process — our team makes applications easy, filling in the centre section and supporting you every step of the way.
How do I apply for 20 ECE hours or WINZ Subsidies?
That’s easy- We’re here to help you understand what you qualify for and to make the process stress-free. Whether it’s 20 free hours, 30 hours of free childcare, or subsidised care for your under-threes, our team will guide you every step of the way.
We are happy to discuss your circumstances and advise you on what you may be eligible for. Any subsidies above the 20 FREE ECE are dependent on WINZ approval.
